The Knighthood Of Black Sabbath

Over the past four decades, Black Sabbath have influenced and have contributed so much to the music industry. Many of the great metal bands that we have today have Black Sabbath to thank for - Judas Priest, Metallica and Anthrax, just to name a few.
Black Sabbath may have gone through many different and great vocalists over the years...but one thing remains.. Ozzy Osbourne will always be THE voice of Black Sabbath!
His distinctive and iconic voice is recognised throughout the world, whether you're an admirer or not, his voice is one of a kind!

Along with Ozzy, Black Sabbath's  sound is also interwoven with the classic sounds of Geezer Butler's Bass, Tony's  signature riffs and Bill Ward's definitive drumming style which is the backbone to their unique sound.

Recently, on the 11th Of November 2011, Black Sabbath had made an important announcement that brought the Metal World to a standstill.  They were reforming for a new album (the first together since their Never Say Die Album) and a 'Reunion' Tour.
On the 9th of  January 2012, it was announced Tony Iommi  had been diagnosed with the early
stages of Lymphoma, but Tony has continued to work on the new record with the band while  undergoing  treatment.

As fans were still reeling from Tony's devastating news , another revelation was being unvieled during this time and that being the constant rumours that Bill Ward would not be continuing with the renunion.  For weeks there were speculations that this rumour was infact true and on the 2nd of February 2012, Ward publicly announced that he would not participate in
the Black Sabbath reunion unless he was given a "signable contract."

The following day, the other group members announced they had "no choice but to
continue recording without him," but also said "our door is always open" for
Ward to return to the band. Given all the surrounding circumstances, the rest of the band  announced that they will not continue the world tour but will play the Download festival in June 2012.
So instead of Black Sabbath, the tour  will feature Osbourne and a revolving line-up of guest musicians, billed as "Ozzy and Friends".

On the 11th of April, Lollapalooza  announced that Black Sabbath will perform at Lollapalooza 2012. It is said, that this will be Black Sabbath's ONLY American concert in 2012.

On 15 May 2012, Bill Ward posted on his website that "after a final effort to
participate in the upcoming Sabbath shows a failure to agree has continued" and
that he would not be participating in the reunion shows, but "will remain with
an open mind and a position of willingness to negotiate 'signable' terms with
Sabbath’s representatives in the future."
On the 18th of  May, Black Sabbath removed photos of Bill Ward from blacksabbath.com by
cropping him out. On the  following day, Geezer Butler released a statement expressing sadness at the
Bill Ward incident. He further unveiled that drummer, Tommy Clufetos, was rehearsing with them in
England.

So, on the 19th of May 2012, Black Sabbath performed for the first time together since 2005, (with Tommy on drums) for a special gig at the O2 Academy in their hometown of Birmingham, England. It was sold out in a matter of minutes (over 3,ooo tickets were sold).

Though all of these events have taken place within the last year.... no matter what next turn of events take place surrounding the band, there is no other band in the history of music that deserve a Knighthood more than Black Sabbath. Most of you are probably now saying, that now that Bill Ward is no longer with the band there is no longer any reason for this honour  to go ahead...but that is where you are wrong.  No matter what path these four lads from Birmingham take ....Black Sabbath will always be -  Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ozzy Osbourne AND Bill Ward!!!  THAT is part of our Metal history and history cannot be re written!!!!

So if you believe this to be true and want to see this legendary lineup finally be recognised for all their efforts then please visit my Black Sabbath Facebook page , click the "Like" button and spread the word!!!!

Imagine how you would feel knowing that YOU helped make it happen!!! \m/\m/
